I see valve marks on one of the pistons. Did you miss a gear? What did your valvetrain setup consist of? Stock 317 heads right?

was in third gear and gave about 50% throttle, it was a stock lq9 short block.

Damn that windage tray is finished!! And the oil pan makes me sick. Now you get to have fun with a new build. It would definitely be bitter sweet for me.
