Im on the highway in Las Vegas and i see a ss coming up on me kinda fast and turns his blinker on to pass, so ive always wondered what my truck would do on the top end side, so i sped up, around 80 hes right next to me, so i keep going to 110, and hes fallen back 2 car lengths, so think to myself he let off. We continue on around an overpass and then on to next highway, im doing around 70 and he gets up next to me and gives me a thumb, and then he gases it, so i kick it down, and around 90 im pulling again, so i stayed in it until 120, and ive got him by like 10 car lengths. i get off on my exit, and he goes from far left lane to off ramp and pulls up at the stop sign, and asked if i was supercharged, because i smoked him up top, and i said not yet man. He had intake and exhaust, and my mods are in my sig with the exeption of 4.10s now. I know there not too fast, but i was happy, ive spent alot less on bolt ons then the price of an ss.

 

ten cars in 50 mph? bet the 4.10's loved 120 mph lol. do you have any track times in your truck with the listed mods?

 

my best time peg leg with the 4.10s was 15.1 at 91mph, spinning like crazy, its funny how your truck feels so much quicker on the street then on the track, im sure with posi, 14's, but just havent done it yet

 

yeah, 4.10's are the difference there. go from a stand still and see what the results are haha. my friends stock ss ran a 14.9 stock last week, not great but better than alot of stock trucks.

 

he was stock with the governor stoping him at 100, with your trap speed it would be a close race up top.

 

a SSS is limited to 100 stock?? guess this explains the 10 lengths at 120 thing lol

 

and the SS come with 4.10's unless its a 2wd and 3.73 gears are in it.

How do you know it was an '04?
If it was AWD it has 4:10s front and rear. The stock PCM will shut an SS down @ 109.

 

The guy told me o4 when i said i mine was an o5. i know my governor shut down before at 98, and he didnt say anything about well if hadnt had a govenor i would of kept up, maybe it did hit it, i dont know, but at 90 i was pulling him pretty good.
