Default 4.8 eats HEMI

Cruisin' round town last night I spied a Black 05 RCSB 2WD Hemi Ram motoring around acting like he was looking for trouble. Well i'm always up for a little trouble so I stalked him and pulled up even with him at a 25 roll and we both floored it...instantly I put 4 lenghts on him. I got him to pull over and he wanted to know if i'd like to "run for real" from a dead stop...well HELL YEAH! So we went outside of town and ran from a dead stop and we both launched PERFECTLY and it was close for about, oh maybe a fraction of a second! Had him by at least 6-8 lenghts by 85 mph and was still pulling hard. Needless to say the dude was amazed, we chatted for awhile and he said it was the first time he'd been beaten. I give him his props cause he was a true sportsman and a very cool kid...just a little good clean fun. Oh yeah it was an ALL MOTOR run... no spray was used just in case anyone wants to know.

are the main mods you have for the race a stall and gears? Are you sure that it wasnt a 4.7 w/hemi badges?

The tune picked my truck up over half a second with only 50 miles on the new computer, and also it got the converter to agree with the pcm (torque management and trans. abuse have been deleted). I was around a 14.9 before the tune, I figure mid-low 14's but can't be sure til I get it over to Memphis and run it at test and tune. Should be well in the 13's on the bottle. I wish I had it on video but I have a good Mustang GT kill on tape if I can just get it uploaded...any suggestions?

It was a HEMI, completely stock except for a flowmaster. He said it was a low 15 sec truck. My lil' truck just runs good!

what are you trapping, ive seen them trap 88 brand new w/no mods. To pull one that hard from a roll you must be around 95 in the quarter w/no nitrous.

I haven't got it to the track in its present form, but before the truck trapped high for the time it ran (probably due to the formally high gear ratio). With 3.42's and bottle it ran 14.2 @ 98 mph which seems high but then again my truck has always ran good on the big end. With the 4.10's and all the mods listed I have no idea what it traps now. I was supprised I beat him that bad as well, I was expecting to win by a few cars and that was it! Without the stall I ran an 03 Mustang GT and beat it by 3-4 lengths and that's a high 13 low 14 sec car (5-speed w/ bolt ons) so you've got me! I'm kinda new to the drag racing scene so if anything I said doesn't pan out don't be suprised- I just know I love driving my truck now!!!
