Ok guys, I know this is an old thread, and I'll put an end to all of this. Watch this video of my truck (2wd, pacesetter LT's, Monster high flow cats, without the cam and Cal Tracs then, tune, and CAI, and NO TRACTION) and the AWD modded SS. At the beginning of the vid, I smoked him from a roll, and the part that you don't see in the video, is before I turned the camera on. I killed him from two other rolls. Of course I didn't have a good launch against him at the last light because I was taking the video and wasn't paying attention as you can see in the vid. (no excuses here), but point being, the AWD is much faster off the line. And we all know that I would have caught him if the stretch was longer. The RWD is about 200lbs. lighter than the AWD, so of course the RWD WILL catch up.

old thread, but i installed a modified transfer case into my AWD tahoe. i wanted to see what 2wd was like and i was trouble shooting my AWD case at the time. i can say you guys can have the 2wd BS, that **** sucks. i couldn't drive anywhere. if it was raining i had grandma's going around me. the ole detroit in the back just kept making me go side ways. 60mph 1/2-3/4 throttle it would roll into boost and my rear would kick out. not to mention the wife wasn't happy she had to lighten her lead foot.
when i bought my tahoe we took two suv's for a ride. i was in the tahoe and the wife was in a push button 4wd yukon. both bone stock we puched them side by side and every time we would sit side by side and at the top of each gear she would gain about a foot on me. it was very little but when they would shift i would get most of it back. hers was in 2wd mode and mine well, its AWD so not much i could do there. just thought i'd throw that out there. same year trucks, but the yukon had about 20,000 less miles.
