Regardless of my opinions of diesel vs. Gasser, I think you will win.A lot of Cummins are just dyno queens and aren't properly setup to make good passes.

Diesels make full power and torque around 1800 rpm.

Just means you need a long rear diff ratio or a lot of gears...

id like to know what year it is, what injectors and which S400kit he has? Properly setup s400 single charger could be a easy 12 second truck

Diesels are quick for the basic intake exhaust tune no doubt. Good for mid high 12s but to get lower than the " the right way " your talking big $$$$ I have a friend that has a really nice 5.9 Cummins motors fully built cam, bored .30 over heads ect..... Twin cp3 the works. Still needs turbos and tranny and he's already pushing 25k in his truck and mine spanks his. His truck will be wicked once done but he's still got another 10-15k in the turbos, tranny and rear end before he's done. That being said gassers can be and are both fast but diesels cost a lot more it seems to make them into the 11s and faster

I think you will take him , don't ever be afraid of a dodge cumminGs anyways, unless they are bilt to the ******* hilt , huge turbo and custom tune/ propane ( which there are not a lot of on the street ) you usually will always own them .

My DURAMAX was a fast fun quick truck for what I had done to it ( as far as I could go with stock turbo/long block ) but it would only do low 13s ,( custom EFI live 530rwhp tune, built trans and converter , lift pumps), these trucks are heavy , mine was 7000#s , dodges and fords weigh more .

Don't be scared of a diesel , most of them talk a big game or blow smoke and are not fast . But George's (Ltr450ryder) is fast , he has the "right" mods

500 horsepower in a diesel is NOT the same as in a 1/2ton gas truck , no comparison. I know .

Damn Tim, your Dmax should have been in the 12.50-12.70 range I would have thought.

It loved to pop the 0087 half track .
I loved that truck though , but wanted more and more is ETREMELY expensive on a diesel

lol propane is a thing of the past, do people still even run that?

being you can take a bone stock 6.4 powerstroke with tune and straight exhaust and run 12's for under 2000$
guys have broke 12's with 5.9 CR trucks with just efi live, exhaust and some trans work
there have been dmax single cab trucks that went 11's with stock turbo and injectors.

a diesel does not need 20k+ in it to be fast so i wouldnt underestimate one
