I should clarify the stock tune part...
All of the engine/transmission performance parameters were left alone. I am a very inexperienced tuner (no fueling experience) and I didn’t want to blow anything up so I upped the shift points to 6200 on that run but left everything else alone.

you know i did!

i am now running 4.11 Yukon gears with an eaton posi, and 275/60r17 BFG's.

i have went a best of 8.15 at 84 mph to date. 60 ft's didnt drop like i would have thought, but not too bad. i have had a 2.1 60' on the street tires, no more modding money for now, so no DR's coming.

sometime in the future, i am going to get another set of 862 heads like i have and drop them off with my machinist for some massaging, milling, valve jobs, p & p , etc...

other than that, i am done for a while.

yup. i cant barely get out of the 9's on motor. LOL

it has been africa hot around here for a while now, i think whenever it gets colder i am gonna drive over to the 1/4 mile track and play for a few runs.

i think it should pull a high 12 on a good hook, cold evening.. at least thats what i tell myself.

i would be pleased with a 12.99... i just wanna say that i have a 12 second 4.8

I took it to the track once last year and ran a best of 12.93 @ 104.99. That was bone stock right down to the base 07 tune. I haven't gotten the shifting exactly right yet though; second gear short shifts sometimes and the engine seems to have a huge power swell once in third gear. That track day was very hot, above 90 degrees, and the track was pretty slick so I was spinning all four tires leaving the line and a little spin at the 1-2 shift also. I had an appointment to have it tuned in March but had to cancel due to work. I hope to get it tuned before the next track day that a local forum is sponsoring in May. For a truck it definitely hauls but is still no match for my car on dry pavement
Jesus. 12.93 on a bone stock 6.2/6l80e? That absolutely murders the old 6.0/4l60e combo.

To sickRED: get the 6.0 and be done with it. I went from a 4.8 to the 6.0 and it's definitely worth it. The 6.0 gets better highway mileage than the 4.8 (it never kicks out of OD) and in the city they are about the same - 13mpg.

i actually get around 16-17 in the city, and right below 20 on the hwy... this is driving VERY conservative though.

if this motor ever goes, then a 6.0 will go inplace, but until then, i cant see all that trouble and money.

$1200 and one days work for 70HP and 95 lb/ft. Not bad imo.

17 mpg in city? Must be because you are reg cab and have 4.11s. I'm extended cab and 3.42s - not good for city.

When a Tundra runs a 12 on just 100 shot, I'll be impressed. Til then.
I see u found he's packin more goodies tho.

[QUOTE=BURLS1;3840831 at any rate they are still ugly[/QUOTE]

So much for a 3.73 being your limit.

it seems possible with a 150...kinda funny that the dude bullshitted me, but i guess everybody bullshits a little on what they have done to their rides.
That's more believeable. He can keep makin more power, but it'll still be ugly.
I might would b.s. someone being a dick, but otherwise, I'll say what I'm running.

What was $1200? W/ that gain?

FWIW, my mileage is high 16's, low 17's, best of 18 city. Hwy, not less than 19. IIRC, I went to Chicago. Got 20.6 going there, & 21.3 or was 23.1 on way home. 3.42 gears.

The greatest part is that it would out 60' my Z06 (on street tires of course) and out run it to about 35 mph.
Yep it was a crazy combo. I say "was" because I just pulled the 6.2L/6L80E out and put the 6.0L/4l60E back in. I need to buy a bigger truck unfortunately to tow my trailers. The 6.0L/4L60E seems like a complete turd compared to the 6.2L/6L80E. Well, I guess it is a turd, it doesn't even come close to running with my car. I still think the hp rating on the 6.2 must be conservative because it feels a heck of a lot more than a 60hp difference.
