It is my understanding they are not "forged" but rather stamped. Otherwise what really is the difference to make them weaker if they were truely forged they would be almost as strong as aftermarket forgings with higher quality metals.

I'm not trying to have a pissing match with you, but they are forged for sure. They are not stamped. The only rods, in my opinion, that are better are billet and quality forged h-beams. Otherwise, the gen 3 rods are excellent with the only liability being the rod bolts. Throw some ARP ( or comparable) bolts in and the sky is damn near the limit with factory rods.

They are definately forged. Cody, the forged rods you are talking about aftermarket are usually of a 4340 steel. I am unsure of the type material in the powder rods. All forgings involve a heat and pressure process to form it and align and interlock the steel "fibers" to be stronger. Cast is just poured and cooled.
This is a good description of the aftermarket powder rods Howards is selling

Bad- wasnt trying to start a pissing match I was just stating what I thought to be the truth. Since I was wrong no problem. I guess I had a misunderstanding on how powdered metal rods were made. I totally agree that the factory rods with arp hardware will more than hold its own.

There's a supercharged 01 in town running 13.7's, I want to line up with him this year. Should be close.
I'll race.

You're one to talk. You have to race in 4Hi against a peg-leg truck on a rain soaked road just to win.

Where were you racing in Manhattan? That town is covered with cops. I got busted for "excessive acceleration" by a cop that was on foot patrol.
