Made a mistake
Well I was cruisin home today, on a 4 lane road and theres a mid 90's lt1 version z28 convertable next to me and I think what the heck I'll give the truck a little gas and see if the guy bites...since he seemed stock. At first he didnt bite, he waited till we hit a red light and started reving the motor a little and it sounds like a stock z28. I power Braked my 84 chevy scottsdale up to about 3 grand...as high as I can before the tires break loose, and I wait for the light to turn green. Well The light goes, and I launch, and the guy sits there for about a second, and then smashes it to the floor. Geesh did that car come alive. When he opened it up it sounded like it was on headers, with a over sized cam. By the end if my first gear, 45 mph he had put his rear bumper even with my front bumper, when I hit second I started to pull back up with him a little, but then we both had to shut them down for the next light. I feel kinda silly even trying to race the car now, but oh well You never know till you try.
for everyone that doesnt know now
im driving a 1984 chevy scottsdale heavy half...rust bucket hehehe
31 inch tires
a edelbrock 350...putting out around 400 hp
the down fall.. 2.72 rear end gears
I feel dumb for racing the guy now

Don't feel bad.I ran a guy for the heck of it in a newer SS.Unfortunately he had a built 383 w/ a good sized turbo, just don't remember the size. Needless to say that sucked lol. After I talked to the guy he just had to mention he's got a 04,I think it was,Z06 for a daily driver.

I figured Off the line if it was stock I would have some sort of chance. The catch is the car was far from stock. I realised that once I heard the cam lope the car wasnt stock, I know the difference in sound because I had the joys of doing a 6 hour tune up on my stepdads stock 94 z28...the joys of a lost bet. That was the longest tune up ive ever done in my life.
