2005 Ford Crown Vic Police Inteceptor package vs my silly ole truck

They wanted to run to the Truck stop to get something to eat. So i figured why not.

Do yall think the crown vics are fast?

long story short....

Gettin on the interstate he stopped and had to do a peg leg burn.. haha WEAK!!

I stalled up and left some serious smoke when i let off the brakes.

chase down the on ramp, i stayed on his tail having to let off the throttle.

55roll, crown vic got the jump. by 130 i had a little over 1 length on him..

70roll, crown vic got the jump, by 120 i had about 1/2 length on him..
Blue light on the whole time!!

We got to the truck stop and well he had this look on his face that looked something like this..... ...............

HAHAH, i thought them cars were faster than that?

Do they have a 4.6L?? I never got to look.

 

yep, 4.6 sohc they be. They are heavy pigs, but I would like to have one for a sc dohc swap from an 03-04 cobra...

The 05, 06 maybe 04s have the MAch 1 motor in them DOHC 318 HP but there tanks. GOOD kill

 

I would LOVE a chance to run against an Interceptor. That'll be interesting to see..

Your cop friend is pretty cool...and stupid. I thought cops were smart enough to not use their cruiser to street race. I guess I was wrong . Anyways, I always thought those Interceptor cars ran mid 16's in the 1/4 mile and high 8's in 0-60 MPH. Hmmm...maybe the newer models are faster.

 

i thought the tahoe were faster????or atleast the older sohc ones

 

I remember reading online somewhere that the CV interceptor ran something like a 15.196 and the civilian CV ran a 15.034 or something close to that. i believe they were like 03's or 04's

 

umm... SRT10 vs PI... That wouldnt even be a race dude.. I mean i have a stock 5.3 with intake, no cats, some what of a tune and a 2800 stall, 3.42 gears. what you run in the 1/4??




We were talking again tonight, found out this guy is kin to me. I think its like 2nd cousins? any way, if i ever need an escort anywhere in this county.... i got it covered. just as long as he can keep up... .... Turbo is goin on soon.

I did notice something weird though.. After i put this 10" 2800 Stall in.. it revs up way faster. what is the huge stock one 14"?
i know in park or neutral it revs to 6k really quick. I pretty much dont have a 1st gear, it revs through it so quick. I guess that much less rotating mass helps the motor rev faster.

Lilreddevil,, i got a leak on the front of the tranny.. not sure what it is.. and the TC is still not locking up right while cruising.. even after i set the lock up MPH up all the way to +12mph.. It sounds like the clutchs or something in there are chattering.. My truck is just sittin under the carport for the time being. But its not the tranny slipping.
