I am in the process of buying a 99 GMC Z71 truck. I found some awesome looking wheels that I would love to have but the only problem is that they only come in 20". They are a Pacer wheel that are very similar to the American Racing Rebels on my car. I would have just got the American Racing rims but they would cost me around 300 a piece when I can get these Pacers for about 140 a piece. Here is my question: If I would put a 2" body lift on the truck, could I fit that 20x9 wheel with 285/55/20??? I wanted to go with a 325/60/20 but those are around 2 1/2 inches taller. What do you guys think???

I believe 285/55/20 should fit at stock height without issue. 285/50/20 is the stock 20" tire size for GM trucks, and they put those on 2wds.

the 285/55 WILL fit with out any problems, i ran 285/50 on my z71 and i had PLENTY of room to go.

With the 2" body lift you can fit 33" tires on there with a little bumper and valance trimming. Be sure and get some pics up Im sure its going to look sweet.

i know a 305/70/16 will work on a z71 with the bars turned on it. for the 20s i would get either the toyo m/t 33x12.50 or some nitto terra grappler 305/50 or mud grappler 33x12.5. its only 32.8 inches tall. trust me it will fit only time it will scrub is close to lock

i am really leaning towards the nitto because i like the way they look and how much they cost. the BFG gets pretty pricey in 20"

I'm also in the market for a Z71, and was curious as to the biggest tire I could fit on a 20" rim. It seems most of the 50 series rubber are all street tires. I would like to get some kind of all terrain atleast. I mean it IS a 4wd. lol.
