Default Are 20s too small on a 4WD?

I have a local guy with a set of chrome Silverado SS wheels w/ Goodyear 285/50 tires, off his SS. I know they're a c-hair shorter than the 265/70/17s on the truck now, but the 265s look small! I also found set of 22" Eagle 026s w/ 305/45/22s that are a little taller than the stock 265s, so they'll fill out the wells nicer, I think. I plan on removing the rear blocks/small decrank to level the truck. If I go w/ the 20s, will they look goofy because they're too small? I see guys w/ 2WDs that are 2/4 running these size tires! Any opinions?

Nah, no offroading...got the Jeep for that. This site corrupted me, lol...if you asked me a couple of years ago if I would be lowering my 4WD and putting big wheels I would've said you were crazy...

No, I am running a 285/50/R20 and they rub alittle when I completly turn the front wheels. Mine is an 01 2wd and I think the 20's w/ the tires you are talking about would look fine. Its all about personal preference. I have heard that the 22's give you a poorer ride then the 20's do, but it just depends if you want more rim or more tire. The only way you are going to get a noticeably bigger tire is if you go with something like 325/50/R20. A skinny goofy looking tire on a 4wd would be a 275/45/R20.

I think it would look good, but a 285/50/20 tire is a perfect size whether its lowered or not.

this is lowered 2/4 ish...

This is with just shackles...

Both trucks are z71.
