Here is some additional info;

The Pirelli 265/35R22 outside diameter is 29.4 inches according to there website.
http://www.us.pirelli.com/en_US/tyre...productid=9905

The Nitto 285/35R22 outside diameter is 29.88 inches accoding to there website.
http://www.nittotire.com/tires_555.asp

I dont think the additional .58 of an inch is going to make that big of a difference. With a bigger tire, the truck will ride better and the risk of creating curb rash on your rims is reduced because the tire is wider. I know everyone usually goes with a 265, but I think a 285 will work.

I think it is 25mm or 6.25 inches on a 9.5 inch rim.

What width can you go with 22's up front?

I tought the 285's only fit on a 22x10 wheel? I did some research and found out the 22x10's up front will give you some rubbing issues and touches the front sway bar. And you would be better off with a 22x8.5 wheel size up front,the only thing is there's not to many manufactures that make a 22x8.5!

Both a 22x9.5 and 22x10 will work. I have the 22x9.5 and brother has 22x10's on his VHO. The tire size is more important than the rim width. I had 285/35's mounted on my 22x9.5 for 2 years and experienced zero rubbing issues with a 3/4 drop. I now have 305/35's on my 22x9.5's and have slight rubbing issues on the left side only. But that is with a 30.6" tall tire on a 3 inch front drop.

I will take some pictures between the sway bar and the rim tomorrow of both my truck and my bros, that will give us some answers.
