It was the inner fender well. Specifically the front part. I took a heat gun and heated it up and then stuffed a rag between in and the tire and that stretched it enough to not rub ever. We are talking 1/4 inch here.

I also have the 275-55 on a stock height 2wd truck (except for shackles in the rear) here is a pic. And yes they do rub some, mainly on the swaybar in extreme parking manuvers. The next time I get some tires, I will probably go with the 285-50, simply because I get alot of people asking "how does it do in the mud with them 20's?" Too many people think its a 4wd. It rides nice though... oh yeah, if you go with the 275-55's, def. get a 4.10. A 3.73 is still kind of a dog down low

275/55-20 is what the SS's come with stock...I went with 285/50-20's. It's about 31" tall and a little wider than the 275. My truck sits a little lower than a 2wd and I get some slight rubbing during certain parking maneuvers.

Thanx for the pics and extre info. I guess I will just mount a 275/55 on one wheel, and a 285/50 on on the other, and test fit.

Go with a 285/50/r20...If you have the money do the BFG G-Force. They have a nice tread pattern that will set off your truck. I have Eagle GTII's on there and I don't have any complaints except 1 blow out because of a defective tire. This pic is at stock height.

See Im thinking the tire that is on jblack's truck, is what is making it look 4wd. Those goodyears have such a curve shoulder that it makes the tire look taller. If I go with a tire that has a more defined tread/sidewall breaking point, it may make it look better.

NOW!! If a 275/55 rubs, wouldn't the 285/50 do it more??

General ? Here.... ok so, when going to a bigger wheel/tire. the extra height gained in the wheel/tire is also applied to the body of the truck, correct?? Therefore, whatever overall inch I gain in tire height, will also raise the body an inch, or will it just take away an inch of the gap between the tire and body??

i just do not want to run a low profile tire, and make this truck look like ****, bcuz its all wheel, no tire, all gap.

275/55, 285/50.....decisons decsions, lol. And I'm still not dead set on which wheels, haha!!

I will try to get you some pictures. My truck is 4WD and I just noticed that you are 2WD. I don't have any rubbing issues but you might.

factory 275/55/20 here.....0 problems...rides good..handles good...and i run 3.73

too bad its a 22" wheel with a 2" shackle drop. I assume its gonna take a 2/4 drop, with a totally different tire size to get this stance/look with a 20.

Guess i'll pimp the 4x4 look for a while, with a 275/55 or 285/50 and a 2" shackle drop.

Hell tho, i have to keep in mind i pull the a trailer loaded down with the LT1 and a 4 wheeler alot too, so I might run into problems with a 2" shackle drop....can't have a sport truck and tow rig in one I guess.
