Default 285/50 vs 275/55

If 275/55-20s rub on my wheels, will the 285/50-20s also rub? The 285/50s should be a slightly shorter tire right? The 275/50s just barely rub but when you go in reverse, the tread catches and makes an awful racket.

The 275/55 is about a 32 in. tire. The 285/50 is a little over 31 in., I think. I got 285/50's on my truck and have no problems; I'm even thinking about a 2/4 drop at the moment. Are your tires rubbing the fenderwell or what is it rubbing?

The 285/50's will definetly work even with a 2/4 dropp! Just make sure you get the right offset.

Check out 99silver5.3's homepage, he has 285/50R 20's on SS wheels but I'm not sure exactly what drop he has. His website lists 2" shackles but doesn't mention anything about the front.
