Default 285's clear stock height truck?

i just cant stand 265's.. i know on other 1500 trucks ive owned I had to put 2-3inches of lift to clear the damn 285s on 16inch wheels.

I have a 04 ECSB 4X4 and was wondering if those tires clear fine on a stock truck and wheel?

They should clear fine...you might have to put a few turns on the t-bars, but it seems 99% of the trucks clear them fine at stock height.

Yes they should clear. I had 285 on my 99 for a few years no problem. Now I have 305/45/22 and it only rubs on the driver side on the llittle plastic pushin plug for the mud flap.

if you turn them then drive around the block, measure, check and see if theyre even on both sides of the fenders and such....turn which ever side needs to be turned and etc...thats how i did mine evenly

i have 285/75 on a set of 16 inch centerlines. they fit fine with a VERY small amount of rubbing, only really at full turn. i drove like this for about 50 miles so that the tires marked the plastic in the inner fender then took a dremel and just trimmed the small amount off. haven't rubbed since.

On the stock rims they'll be fine. If you mount them on some 16x8's then you'll need to trim or crank alittle.

I have 285/75 16's on 16x8 wheels, have never had them rub, even off road turning and going over nasty bumps at the same time.

I thought the stock wheels were 16x8? At least I think they were on my Z71.
