35W HID's vs. 55W HID's Does it matter?
i currently have a set of 35W HID's in my low beams only and sometimes they flicker or only one light comes on then i proceed to flip from high beam back to low beam till the other low beam comes on. Ive read at one place that it is because the kit is 35W and a 55W kit will keep any of this from happening. Ive also read that a 55W kit has more heat output and i do not want to melt my headlights. any input would be greatly appreciated. i will be purchasing a '99 silvy this Saturday and would like to get low high and fog light HID kits but i wanna sort this situation out before i possibly ruin the headlights.
Thanks, Nick

Get a relay kit, got mine from DDM Tuning for $15, iirc. Connects the ballast directly to the battery and should solve the flickering problem. I run the 35w and it gives plenty of light output. I have read that the 55w's run too hot for the housing and often flicker, however when people switch from the 55w to the 35w, both problems go away.

And the DDM kit I have just plugged in, no splicing or anything, their plugs plug directly into the stock ones. I forgot the order of the relay and ballasts, but it all plugs in.

i just replaced my HIDS bulbs with some new one and the bulbs are not compatable with my old ballists
Bulbs come on for 10-15 seconds then flicker 2-3 seconds and shut off, turn switch off and back on it will repete this process
My HID dealer says the new bulbs are 40watt vs 35 watts i had and cant be run off my old ballists,i need the 40watt ballist box
