Default 4/6 question

If I were to do a 4/6 drop on my 04 silverado, what backspacing would you guys recommend for 20" rims. Ive been looking at some rims with 5.0 backspacing, will I be ok? I looked through the old posts with no luck. Any help will great thanks.

6" of backspacing on an 8.5" rim would be optimal. I'm pretty sure 5.0 won't work. You'll need at least 5.5" of backspacing on a 8.5" rim to tuck.

If you really wanted to run those rims you could run some 255/35/20's and roll your fender lips.

when I was looking for wheels I was told 5" or more, the centerlines I just got have 5.4", and from threads Ive read the backspace is perfect for the 4/6'rs

Funny that you posted SierraSport. The reason I want a 4/6 drop now because I saw your truck with a 5/7 drop. I was going to go with a 2/4. I love your drop, but where I live theres some places I wouldnt be able to go so the 4/6 will do me well. Great looking truck

hmm, interesting. I was completely under the impression that you had to run a smaller tire than that.

you CAN run a 8.5" wide wheel with 5" of bs with a 4/6. When I had my 4/6 I had 22x9.5 with 6" bs. only thing is you have to roll your fender lips.

Thanks, I also live down really crappy dirt roads. I had to take my 20's off and leave them at my house in Round Rock so that I wouldnt bend them..
