I'm going to candy mine since I have a white truck, but if I had a black truck I would tint them untill I got a fix it ticket, then I would start over and candy them. =P

That brings up an interesting point. That particular guy has been pulled over before... and since you can see the lights through them perfectly during the day and nite, they really couldnt do anything. Are there any laws on tinting your taillights? I mean if you can still see the lights, i dont see what they can do.

I was told that if the do not reflect red then they are illegal. This was from when evryone was doing the clear tail light thing.

I think that either candy or tinted would look good on a white truck...tough call. Maybe someone can photoshop it for ya to get some ideas of what it may look like.

When you candy the stock tailights, you are putting a candy apple red paint over the tailights. The only thing is that you have to watch out and tape off the white/clear part of the tailight which is the backup light which you can't cover by law. So basically the red turns into a candy red and the amber turns into a candy red and the white/clear stays the same.

a few more questions:

Paint on the outside???

Then clearcoat??

Coud I paint the inside of some completely clear (Altezza)lenses???

Will the candy color be identical over the amber and red both?

thanks...

I don't know the exact process, but someone here probably has a link to a tutorial type thing, It's candy then clear a few times with a wetsand somwhere in there I believe aswell...

I haven't done it yet but I have read a bunch about it. And, yes, The candy should look the same over the red and amber both, I believe it depends on the type of candy red (I have read that Testors Candy Red is the best) and I have seen some nice results...
