Anodizing is an electro-chemical reaction. Current, and a bit of it, is necessary. You part would have to be "racked" or "fixtured" to electrodes inorder for it to anodize. (I literally could write a book on this one topic ) Sometimes parts will move on the fixture and arc, causing damage. It's rare with a quality shop but it does occur.

We're a "job shop" that does commercial work, primarily in the Semi-conductor, medical and Military/Defence industries. We don't take work from individuals just because the risk outweighs the profits
We do other processes as well and you'd think my truck would be a rainbow of metal plated parts but not a single piece, lol.
