anyone using checkmate bed cover?
with the search being down right now i have to ask this although i'm sure its been covered before...
anyone using a checkmate bedcover? if so, how do you like the fit, finish, quality? does it seal well and keep the contents of the bed dry? i'd much prefer something over-the-rail, but not something bulky. and yes, i know snugtop or *******'s is the far better option. but i just can't justify spending 800+ on a bedcover right now. i haven't been able to find a cheaper over-the-rail bedcover that isnt bulky or doesn't have a wing attatched to it
so long post short: using a checkmate? how you like it?

Tony,
I have a Checkmate cover. My honest opinion is that I think you might be better off spending a little more on another cover. I was not impressed with my Checkmate. The cover was out of square straight from the box and it leaks like a civ. Also, I had to add extra rubber molding on the inside of the cover to keep it from smacking my inner box sides. In addition, water has seeped between the fiberglass layers and created a nice bulge on the bottom side. You get what you pay for on this cover. The only real strong points are that it's light and low profile.

They are not the sexiest cover but I've had two and both worked fine. They are not really water tight and they really need to be painted for a cleaner look. The flush mount is what I wanted.
