Default Armrest removal

How do you remove the armrest? I'm intalling my leather, and they forgot to send the kit.

There is nothing in the kit that can help really.

Just get the bottom part of the seat off the frame... and reach up inside from the bottom of the main seat.

Inside there is a rubberband that goes around the tips of a c-clip type deal. Take off the rubberband and then the c-clip.

After that the armrests will just slide out

Thanks for the help. That worked perfectly. BTW, did you strip the cover off the armrest, or just pull the leather over it. Mine zipped on and I just pulled it over the already covered piece. One more thing, were you able to keep the top part in place where the armrest stows? mine won't stay.

I just zipped mine over the cloth on the armrests.

As far as keeping that piece in place... good luck.
If you notice our stock pieces have a plastic clip that connects to a rod to hold it all up there nicely... but my katzkin didnt have that...

So I had to use some spray glue in a couple places and it works great. Just a couple sprays and your fine.

I didn't even think about spray adhesive. I was thinking about sewing in some loops with snaps or velcro. But I'll try the spray first. Thanks for all the help. I won't get it done until Sunday, since I have to work all weekend, but I will post pics.

Yea.. it wasnt fun realizing after your done that the armrests dont tuck up there nicley!

I went straight to Katzkin and told them they had a design flaw and should include the snaps with any new kits they make.... but I guess that didnt happen...

They did take care of me those and it looks great now

Yea, the tech called me last night about the armrest before you posted. He was trying to explain it when I said "Is it just like removing a window crank?", and he said yes. But he also said I would have to cut the seatcover to get to it. You way to access it worked great. Thanks again.
