Ok well I just got off the phone with this guy at discount and I think he has no idea what he is talking about. I told him I wanted a tire that was about as tall as my factory tire which is a 245/75/16 to keep the same performance. I asked if the 275/45/20 was about it and he said that is 2 inches shorter than my stock tires. Then he suggested a 285/55/20 but that was still one inch shorter. I so confused right now.

Ok. I actually have 265/75/16s on my truck now, thats how I got it and they are not the right size and I really think they are too big. Are the 275/55/20s shorter than the 265/75/20s I have now?

Bigger wheels look better on dropped vehicles (especially when they tuck in the finder wells ), IMO.
Im keeping the truck like it is now. What do my current tires of 265/75/16 equal in height? I think they are too tall.

That's what size I have with my modest 4x4 drop...if you search for some pics of tdrumm's truck, you'll find 20" Centerline Stingray's...can't remember his tire size though, I think it's 275/45-20, or 255/45-20...he's 2wd and lowered more than mine. Perfect stance IMO.

I have 285-50-20 on a 2/4 Drop... On a 2" Shackle drop, I'd recommend a 275-55-20... A bit taller and narrower than the 285-50... Comes stock on all GMT-800 and 900... Will fill in the Fender Gap more...

Use this...VERY Helpful when researching tire size...

here is 285/50/20 with stock suspension. they fill the fenderwell pretty well on the front but mine sits higher in the back cause of the coil over shocks i have. i haul alot of stuff. just picture it lower in the back.

it actually looks better when i load it down. kinda levels out the truck but if i drop the back i'll end up dragging my pipes
