cleared lower lights, white bowtie, under the hood colormatching, remove moldings and debadge, get rid of the window visors, remove the chrome fenderwell trim....IMO and you can always drop it for pretty cheap, that completely changes the look of it.

here's a clean truck that started out like yours.

If you'd like to tell the difference in your ride, and I can't say that it's completely cheap, but the Belltech shackle and hangers. You will tell the difference in your ride.

color matching and lowering is about the only cheap things you can do to these trucks lol in all honesty, if you do the proper prep you can make a 6 dollar can of duplicolor go a long ways far as looks, theres a few members on here that use spray cans and have very good results, just takes alot of good prep before paint.

I'm going to do a little picture whoring here. Get you a few rattle cans "adhesion promoter, primer, paint, clear coat" and some sand paper. Start painting. I painted everything on my truck myself so far.

Another thing you can do is get you a heat gun from O'Reillys for $25 and an eraser wheel "can get them at a body shop or Napa" I think I paid maybe $20 for it. With those two things you can take off every badge, sticker, or door molding that you want to. Heat it up, take it off, and use the eraser wheel in a drill to take off the excess residue. Those two things make a huge difference.

I ordered clear corners for my old truck like yours off ebay for $30. They make a big difference as well.

Here is my truck the day I brought it home

Here it is now with all the stickers and moldings and badges taken off with a few things painted. "I know my upper valence is not straight, I have to repaint it so I just set it on there to see what it would look like in pics.

truck looks good camo, and yea you just tape up the chrome and spray the rest w.e. color you decide. but i stress this, DO GOOD PREP, if not the paint will flake off, also like camo said use a promoter, yea its like 6 bucks more (for the cheap duplicolor) and like 20 for the bulldawg stuff that works really good, but its well worth it, aslo on the black chrome kits they sell, ive personally never used one, but i have mixed clear with black to give the smoked chrome look your talkin about which worked good. stuff youll need for the grille project

1 can promoter = $6-$20 (depends if u get duplicolor or bulldawg)
1 can primer = $5
1 can black paint = $5
1 can white paint = $5
1 pack 600 grit sandpaper = $4
1 can clear = $5

then IF you want to attempt the black chrome you can try the nite shades they sell for tail lights. just to one light coat tho if you try that. its aroudn $15-20 cant remember

estimate around 50-60 depending on actual full price, thats just a estimate. you could actually go to walmart and use the 96 cent cans but i dont trust that stuff so up to you.

sounds like expensive to just to a grill, but with all the paint you could actually do your mirrors and door handles too if you want.
