Cool Clear powder coat for polished wheels...

How about clear powder coat for my new centerlines rather than paint
based clearcoat.
I spoke to a shop today that says they do them all the time, much more
durable than paint based finish, he said you will loose a small bit of the shine
but this is probably ok. My eagles are alot of work to keep clean let alone shiny and I figured if I get the new centerlines done before they go on the truck or have wheels mounted I will be ahead of the game.

Anyone done this or seen the finished product

Dave

No help from me, yet. I'm looking for the same info. The place that may do my hood has heard of a product. Supposedly he'll have given it a shot by the time I get in there for paint/repairs. I'll keep everyone posted if so.

I had my Billet Specialty wheels done by Budnik's clearcoating shop, you don't lose any shine at all. In fact, you gain shine because you clean your wheels more often because it's easier to (hose down and wipe off---no polishing needed):

Those look nice. Do you happen to know what powder (brand/product name) they used?? How durable is the finish and how is it holding up?

Sorry guys, I really don't know what brand of powdercoating they use, but here is their complete information if you want to give them a buzz, they're really nice guys. Just ask for Kelly (he's a guy) and tell him Chris with the Billet Specialties wheels sent you (maybe he'll hook me up on my next set lol):

Specialized Coatings

tel: (714) 841-2479

btw--just had some Weld wheels done there for my Mustang, and again, extremely pleased with the results!!!
