Default Color sanding

I am painting a set of mirror caps for my NNBS. I used GM aerosol paint so I knew it would match correctly. The finish is dull, not even close to the rest of the truck and the label says you can rub out with a mild polishing compound after 48 hours. It says NOTHING about applying a clear coat.

Should I:
  1. Rub out, polish and wax and forget it?
  2. Color sand, rub out, polish, wax?
  3. Color sand, rub out, CLEARCOAT, color sand, rub out, polish, wax?
  4. CLEARCOAT, color sand, rub out, polish, wax?
  5. Other
Like I said, the color matches but is dull. I have some Duplicolor clear but it is not that shiny.
