Default Corvette Wheels on Pickup

I have a set of 99 model vette wheels that I am thinking about putting on my truck (01 Silverado 1/2 ton 4x2), has anyone done this? and where do I get adapters?

I've always heard that adapters are a bad idea.

If you get the Billet ones it SHOULD be ok.......

I have seen them being used in high hp applications and they seem to be holding up.

Now I've heard that the aluminum ones are the worst ones.

HMMMM. Well I am not sure now! I can tell you this.......I wanted to do the same thing, add the vette wheels and I changed my mind because of the adapters! So I guess that is my vote...No on adapters!

Get in touch with red53gmc. He has had them (with Vettte wheels) on his truck for a while. He hasn't posted in 2 months though.

Probably the best way to do this is to go with a Corvete rearend at the same time. Don't need any adapters.

Thanks for the help guys I am still undecided, I would like to put the vette wheels on since I have a 99 vette also but my biggest concern is strengh, I am in the process of swapping in a LS1 / T56 and when I get this ironed out I will get more serious about the wheels.

yeah paul (red53gmc) has the corvette wheels and adapters on his truck. the look good but he doesn't use them on the track, just the street. so far they've held up well

www.picturetrail.com/white53gmc <-- look in the red truck album.
