Wow, nice, you have a spray gun at home to do that? To bad I don't have the right equipment to do that myself, and a clear...I'm impressed.

How does the rear handle come off the tailgate? The three screws on the opposite side? Truck looks good. Are those a version of the Centerline Stingrays....I have them on my truck.

Yes, i have a little touch up gun at home as well as a compressor.

To take the tailgate handle off you first take the bezel off, unhook the little metal rods from the bottom of it and then remove the 3 bolts on the back of the tailgate. After that you should carefully angle it out of there

My wheels are the Centerline Stingray III's...the polished ones that have the plain spokes, i like them alot and they supposidly only weight 23 lbs each, which didn't slow my truck down at all when i put them on

I have a touch up gun from lowes, about a 50 dollar piece, definately nothing special. My compressor is just a little 2 gallon (?) model that puts out enough air to get the job done. I wish i had better stuff, but i'm just learning to get into paint, i will definately upgrade later on though

Here are some other pieces i did with this cost effective setup...

I get good results even though the gun and compressor are probably considered "cheapie" pieces...i think what makes the biggest difference is that i'm using good paint, dupont chromabase, it is unbelievable how much better paintgun results are from spraycan results

I would highly recommend the touch up gun, as it is small and doesn't put out too much paint, it is definately a good piece for beginners like myself

hope this helps, if anybody has anymore questions i will try my best to answer them!

If you are going to get a gun and don't mind spending a 225 bucks. Get a SATA Mini Jet. You may find one cheaper on ebay. I do some painting(www.aztecpaintworks.com) using my minijet more than anything and get great results. I absolutely love it .

Sata makes good guns as does devilbliss. The lowes guns aren't to bad, theyu give very nice results. One of the keys to painting anything is proper preperation. The guns dont make a huge difference on stuff that you may be painting in your garage. The SS handles don't even look smooth to me, I think they are just painted over the texture. I sanded my own and had it sprayed along with my other parts, the sanding was simple.

Wow, that's cool. Is spraying clear any different than paint, anything special you have to do with it?

spray cans blow, everyone please buy a gun and try it out, whats the worst that can happen you have to sand it off, the quality of paint cant be matched in spray cans, i shot the plastic spacer between the grille and bumper, sanded it down, used a plastic flex agent in the primer and a hardener on the clear coat, beautiful after two years, bugs dont even touch it.
