Y2K Dude. Are you saying to just go with springs (2" to 3") for the front drop? If this is the case, what's all the talk about dropped spindles and dropped control arms. Ads on top of ads telling me this is the way to go, or that's the way to go. Now, you seem to be saying springs only in the front. OR am I reading your reply wrong. I want to get it down (2-4 or 3-4) but don't want to lose the ride.

Thanks

With the flipped ball joints up front, you'll lose some turning radius with the belltech spindles up front.

Just to throw another hat in the ring.... check out Mcgaughys.com. Their spindles( the type for 17" or larger wheels are the best) don't require nearly the mods to get em on, and I haven't lost an inch of my turn radius. I'm rollin' 3-4, and it rides great. I don't have sways yet, but just the drop alone has tightened up the corners. This is a 2" spindle, 1" spring, and shackles and hangers for the back. Kit comes w/ shocks, doetsch techs in the back and looks like toxic softys in the front( the only part I'm not thrilled with... needs DT's in front too!) Great quality, shipped it quick, and are good w/ questions. I think they're outta Modesto, Ca. Give 'em a look.......

I have 4/6 DJM drop on my truck. It looks damn good, but my frront end bounces a hell of a lot. Maybe some stiffer springs? My truck sits about .5 to 1" lower on the left side because of the gas tank, etc. I like the looks and will probably change springs in the front later (2" lower) and maybe shackles or blocks in the back. SO its up to you.

i'd go with Hotchkis for a 'sport ride' 2-4 - and DJM if you want to keep the ride stock (although i have no experience with them) . I have a 'off brand' springs/leafs 2-4 on mine and I am thinking about swapping it all out for Hotchkis stuff - I dont like the ride right now - Its hard to explain....kind of stiff but bouncy at the same time. The hotchkis leafs will probably fix it.

I just ordered McGaughys spindles up frt and Hotchkis leafs out back...
With the spindles
Dont have to switch lower ball joints
Dont have to flip the upper control arm.
Keep the factory coil spring up front.

LS1schem,

I'm wanting to do the same drop, with the Mcgaugphys spindles up front and Hotchkis 4" leafs in the rear. I've been looking in the archives and don't see that many people running this setup and was wondering how she rides. Did the ride change a lot from stock? I don't want a rough rider.

Thanks,
Chuck
