Dying Lower Valence?
The grey color of the lower valence is getting old. I currently don’t want to spend the money on buying the black color valence. I did a search and found some people talking about dying the lower valence. I was wondering if anyone has done this or if you have any pics. I have heard of people using SEM dye on plastic parts, I just wonder if it would match the color/shine/look of the top bumper cover.

What about the brand VHT. I know you see alot of these aresol "paints" at the stores for plastic and fabrics but are they real paints or are they dyes. I'm just worried about the color. Would you call the top black bumper cover a flat black or a satin black.

If I had the money, I would have done the SEM, instead I had a couple cans of Krylon Fusion in matte black laying around and decided to use that. I just cleaned it very well, scuffed it with some Gray Scotch-Brite, laid down a few coats of adhesion promoter, and then sprayed 4 light coats of the Krylon. It's been on there for almost a month now with no chipping or cracking and I've been through a couple light trails and a lot of rain and rocks. If it does mess up though, I can always touch it up easily.
But for the ease and durability, you can't beat dying them, I used to use SEM on a lot of my R/C car and truck wheels, even after many gallons of fuel and countless battery cycles, they held up great.
