Default escalade gauge install

who all has done this and what all is involved? when you get the gauges from GM do they have needles on them? just pull them outta the box, pull the old cluster out and replace it with the new one? just making sure i don't have to have atap to recalibrate the tach speedo etc.

I've done it and it has got to be one of the EASIEST things I've done to my truck. The hardest part for me was unplugging the old cluster. I got mine from a dealership in FL. Got it in on a Monday, had the milage transferred on Tuesday, and put it in on Wednesday. Took about 20 minutes all together. It's really plug and play.

I wouldnt say its 100% necessary, but it would be a good idea, so you know exactly how many miles the truck has

I transeferred the miles to my Escalade cluster. That way I don't have to explain anything if I decide to sell the truck!

That wouldnt be too bad of an idea, being its a new motor and you'd like to keep tabs on it. Maybe hold off on the install of the gauges right now, and just keep it set aside untill you get the new motor, and then install them both, and that way you can keep track of your milage.

To me, the Escalade gauges are pretty nice, but for some of the vehicles, i dont think they fit @ all (as far as the overall look of the interior). But, whatever floats people's boats i guess.

I think it was one of the best things I did to my interior . I have white faced with blue LED's in mine , and I get compliments all the time.

About the milage. I just wrote it down on the little sticker. So the only way I would change,is if my truck still had warranty, or if I was going to sell it and the individual wanted the correct milage.
