Question Ever chopped a top??

I am thinking about chopping the top on my truck for a very different look that I havent seen really much so far. I am trying to go for the older hotrod look with my wheels. badges, etc.... I guess what I am asking is what all is involved in chopping a top on a newer vehicle? I have done old cars and its not that difficult if you take your time. I am sure there's more to it with all the safety equip these days. What about the new tempered glass? I wanted to chop it about 2-3 inches all the way around. Just looking for something different. How do you think it wouls look?? How much more complicated would it be??

I'd have to agree that I wouldn't like it, but to each their own.

damn cieling is low enough getting in already on a dropped truck. You are going to have to go with totally custom glass though and its going to be expensive as hell.

ive been doin some research also.

-Yes the glass will be expensive....but you dont have to get a new front window....just angle it back more.
-you will have to cut and plastic weld all the pillar pieces back for the interior

try contacting Devious Customs or IF Customs. They've done some of the best chop's

yeah I have been looking around a little and I have only found two NBS chevy's chopped. both single cabs.... I think it would look bad ***.... I am lowering the truck more too... I want the roof chest high just so I can get my new license plates "UNDRRDR" or under the radar.... I think that would be funny.... I'd still get pulled over all of the time. I am sure of it... I just think chopped tops look so bad add... the best one I saw was sectioned 3 inches and chopped 2 inches on bags and 18" steel wheels red with the flat blace body paint... smoothies will be cool forever.... I just likke the retro stuff.

I have seen an ECSB that has been chopped. It was the "sliced apple" truck that Aftermarket _ _ _ _ (cant remember their full name) had. It was a two tone lime green and purple with a caddy clip and a small flame between the two colors. I will try to post pics.

thats what I am talking about... definitely cool!!! I like the laid back windshield look that comes from chopping it down. I have been getting all kinds of ideas here lately. most of which I have never seen or only seen very rarely due do difficulty or whatever. I just want to find out if there's anyone with more experience than me on this. I have limited knowledge on this subject.
