Thanks. No worries in rain. It's marine grade carpet basically. Supposedly, anything u get on it (oil, etc. will wash off. IIRC, soap & water, I'd have to find my original care directions. But if u need em, I'll bet can be loaded off website.)

The backing is hook & loop (industrial strength velcro). But they could use more in a few spots, that's probably reason why it is pulled away in a few spots. When repairs were made on right boxside, shop didn't follow my directions & let me know if I needed new velcro attachment pts. They just used the old ones, whether they stuck or not.
I'll remedy that eventually & when I get my Snugtop in ~1 wk, the sun won't be pounding down on it either.

MY advice: Mine might've been a problem due to that shop, or just 1 of those things. W/. more velcro in some key spots (2-3 on side, & 2 on ea. side near tailgate), I think my problem wpuld be non-existent. If covered, I don't foresee any problems like that.

If exposed, I'd consider a Rhino, Line-X or similiar spray in. Again, in all fairness, I never contacted BEDRUG to see what they'd say. mainly, cause I thought I'd have a hard tonneau by now.

All said, I'd prefer Bedrug over a spray-in. I'd prefer either a Bedrug or a spray over a plastic drop-in. Kinda depends on how abusive u are to your bed. If throwing bricks & heavy stuff that could dent, go spray-in or plastic.

I have the bedrug(or a variant of it) in the my truck, but I have a tonneau cover. I want to drop the tonneau for the summer months but I don't want to pony the dough for spray liner, hahah, but I also prefer some kind of protection. Sounds likes yours is working out well!

I edited last paragraph if it helps ya any. I type slower than u replied. While I was editing. I do have a few lil spots from my carwash solution I believe. It's concentrated, & I was hot, so I didn't wash out/ scrub the few little spots real well. It contains coconut oil or some stuff. Smells nice, lots of bubbles.

Actually, I used to was roof from the bed. Made it easy, altho w/. the drop, being 4" closer to ground did too.
I didn't even really wash the rug. Once the Snugtop goes on, I can't step up to wash roof, & now I'll actually have more to wash.

It's on the list, but no, I meant my Snugtop by saying minor cosmetic upgrade.

If I do bumper(s), I do mirrors too. And I get more $ to blow on outside, hood. Maybe.
Tonneau. Drivetrain upgrade(s). More Power!

Wheels/ Tires/ Big Brakes. Done!

Mostly done @ that point, unless I tinker w/. interior. I've got some ideas there.
See how it runs, & maybe more POWER. spray?
