Only way I'd do it, is if it had a wooden bed like again, older stuff. I've seen wooden beds on the C-body trucks ('73-87), but bedsides are still there. And older ones, I've seen that too.
Or a diamond plate, but who knows the weight added back in now. Say 1/2 the height if now, w/. sides just high enuff to cover a remote batt. & NOS bottle.

But IMO, it's NO. Your $ & time tho.

Don't do it. It'll just look like some hack was too cheap to find a new bed/get it fixed.

yea definately would have to be pulled off well or it would absolutely suck! Youd be the first tho.... I guess if your ever lookin to sell it you may be able to sell to a farmer! lol jks
I say lower the back more and fix what ya got!
