Nothing but disadvantages I believe. Can't rotate the tires is a big one. Plus, with the sizes you're thinking of, your ABS may be affected, which could be important.

The difference between the two tires is over 1" in height/diameter (28.9" vs. 30.0") or a 3.7% difference. I've heard the max you want is 5% difference, but personally, I like to have my tires match exactly because I don't think brakes are anything to mess with.

Any particular reason you want different height tires?

The price for Hankooks is right, and they arn't a bad tire, their only problem is they arn't good in rain....at all.

Curtis Daniel has run different sized tires front and rear for over a year I believe and havent heard of any problems ask him. Speedo calculates off the VSS on the output shaft of the trans.

curtis, where did you find the G.grabber uhp in a 275/60/17?? I cant find them...

AP, yeah, I thought I had seen the Grabber UHP in the 275-60-17, but I must have been looking at the 255-60-17, so I guess the 275-55-17's will stick. Right now gears are 3.73's and will most likely stay that way for a good while. Might have found a house and the price is upwards of what we were wanting to spend, so Modding might take a little of a back seat for a while, just wanting to get some stuff like the wheels/tires, 2" shackle drop (hint, hint Chago......) and some of the other apperance stuff done, then I can take my time with the performance mods ya know.

yeh but abs is done by the wheel speed sensors. The abs needs to know if the wheels are spinning at different speeds.

This is exactly what I am alluding to. Different rotations (in this instance, 698 rev/mile for the 55 series tire vs. 672 rev/mile for the 60 series tire) are what give the ABS its data.

Like I said before Daniel(01Thunder) has been running different size tires for a while now with no problems. The abs senses wheel lock up from the reluctor ring on both front wheels and then the rear acts as one wheel. His abs will still work fine as far has functioning now whether or not it will throw a code due to differing axle speed is a different story I dont know.

great tire! I am running the 275/45/20 and I love em. I have had toyos, nittos and now the hankooks. they are better than toyos in the rain and the grip is about the same. I would rank them right up there with the nittos on my tahoe.

Despite what people may have 'heard' I am speaking from first hand experience. They are smooth and quiet. For the price they can't be beat.

For what it is worth I have put around 10k miles on my hankooks and they are wearing extremely well. The toyos wore a little fast for my taste. I would expect no less than 45k from the hankooks with moderate driving.

I've ridden in my friend's vehicle, and driven it as well, so it's a little more than just 'heard.' He had some very expensive Michelins on there before so that was his reference point, and may have a lot to do with why he is so disappointed.
