Post help with a rear drop kit

So i just installed a shackle kit on my 2wd sierra last night and i went with the 2" drop but i wanted to go lower but dont have the money to buy hangers yet. is there anything i can do to drop it lower? ive heard of removing my leaf block but was does that even mean? and will that work if i already have shackles? im also running 305/40r/22 front and back if that makes a difference.

thanks in advanced guys

You can remove your overload leaf, but I wouldn't reccomend doing it. Just save your money up and go 4/7 go with 4" lower control arms up front, and a flip kit, notch, and adjustable shackles in the rear. It'll look good

Yours is a 2wd so their is no block to remove. On 4x4s, there is a 2" block that goes between the leaf springs and the axle that gives it a little more lift. You can do lowering leafs or a flip kit. Other than that its going to be hangers.

Too many bad things to be said about taking that overload leaf out for the MAYBE half inch that you get out of it.

Enjoy not breaking your truck while it still sits as high as it does now, and save up for quality parts, and if you like low, just go 4/6 or 4/7 the first time...

removing the overload makes the rearend bounce and bottom out all the time. The only time it would be ok, is if you had some caltracs or over traction device.
