Hey guys quick question for anyone who knows about these HIDs. I'm new to them, but is there any chance anyone knows what size bulbs I need? I'm looking to change hi/low beams, running lights, and even my bottom fog lamps. Also what you guys recommend are brightest and whatever else I need. I'd like to order them all some time tonight. I was going to go with projector headlights, but I figured this would be something I'd try out first.
Thanks everyone

I put projectors on my Sierra for the night driving i do since i work straight nights i love them ... It really throws out some light but i also put HIDs so im getting a lot more light output ..
06s need 9006 in low beams .. 9005 in high beams with 9145 in fog/driving lights And 3157NALL in park lights and turn signals (i google it to get that .. my 08 GMC is diff) so im guessing thats right LOL ..I personally get only AC powered HIDs over the DC because they are brighter and have more white light which is what u need to see in darkness... Objects reflect white light and tend to absorb or not reflect the bluer colors so i wud stay away from anything over 6k HIDs .. From my experience .. If theres no sponsors here that will thrash me I get mine from Tempestdirect .. Excellent product and ships fast .. All their kits are AC so no need to wonder what they are ... Hope that helps

if u put 55 watt kit in ur highs u will see a big diff .. I forgot that part ..35 watt in lo and fogs and 55 watt in hiighs if u want/need more light .. But 35 watt in highs is sufficient .. Usually the mirror in ur highs throw out a much wider pattern than dims to see more so 35 watts usually sufficient .. Sum People dont put any in highs and just toggle fogs on n off as needed but for my use at night with mostly country driving i like extra light to see deer and wildlife BEFORE they cross the highway ![Grin](https://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
so i have 55 watt highs n 35 watt los n fogs .. I light up the road like crazy lol 6Ks in all three pairs .. Very bright white light

Good to kno .. I had googled it when i ordered the HIDs for my step sons 06 and helped him install .. I never noticed if the 9005 n 9006 were same cause he plugged em in before i looked lol .. Bout the daytimes i ordered an LED replacement for the daytimes and they look great on his .. They ebay specials lol but work excellent with no issues Edit: the LED daytimes were total housing replacements for the stock daytime running light/park light with a blk back ground .. White LEDs
