What kind of bulb do I need for my fogs?

What wattage are you guys ordering? Are the 55W ballast going to make the bulbs melt the housing? How good are the housings on our trucks to keep from melting?

Just something to keep in mind, HID heat up a bit before coming really bright, I would think twice before adding them to my brights.... SHould be fine for the fogs though.

yes i know that, and thats partially why i dont have them, by the time you click on the highs or click off them to the lows its not worth it if your around other motorists alot. but on back roads with no traffic i would think all three on at once would be amazing..
and as far as the housings, ive felt them on a hot summer night and they werent really that much hotter than a stock bulb, and ive had my housings in the oven @400* for 15+min or so, i think they can take the heat just fine..

Ok, then can the stock wiring withstand the draw put onto the wiring with the 55w ballast?

I dont see why not, the stock halogen bulbs are 55-65w, ive only herd of problems with melting stuff when using aftermarket halogens. to put out comparable light output to HIDs they have to step up the watts/amps (some are around 80w) to do so, and thats were you run into problems. But this is just my opinion, not from actual experience so take that for what its worth. I wouldnt hesitate to try them, but 35w are plenty bright so i dont think they are necessarily needed..

I did the all on mod and had them in my highs too for use out at my deer lease. I had them on for up to 5 hours straight on hot summer nights hog hunting so Id say the housings are fine but Im honestly not sure what wattage mine were. And with all of them on it is definitely nice and bright

Got my 35w 8000k on today and look great! Very easy to install.

I've been running the 35w 6K since april in my headlights and they work great. I would recomend that you get the relay harness because when I had the hids in my fogs I burnt out a ballast from not enough power on start up. Some people don't have the harness and never have problems but it is a good piece of mind to have. I have the harness for the headlights but I didn't get one for the fogs and if I go back to it I will use it. Also if you get the harness make sure to mount the relay somewhere where it will stay dry cause mine got wet and the relay went bad and sucked my battery dry. After picking up a new relay I haven't had any problems with em.
