Default HID's on a Sierra w/ Denali Headlamps

how do i come about doing this? would i purchase a 9006 kit or 9005. i'm really not familiar at all with HID kits but i would like to do it. i guess im just looking for suggestions on what to do right now. again, i have stock 9006 for low beam, i connected a 9005 adapter so they'll work w/ the denalis low beams..

what to do..what to do..

You'll want to do a retrofit the lamps from a car that came with HIDs into your Sierra Denali housings. Putting HID bulbs in halogen housings will result in WORSE light output (though it may appear brighter, it will throw light in all the wrong places).

Check out hidplanet.com for info on doing a real retrofit.
Check out http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...nversions.html for an explanation of why HID "kits" are a bad idea.
You *CAN* put HIDs in your truck the right way.

There was a guy over on the denali truck forum that retro-fitted the insides from a BMW with HIDs into the denali housings. I'll see if I can find it.

I haven't actually done this mod to my truck. I'd love to someday, but its quite expensive and there's a long list of things to spend the $ on first. I basically looked at this from the perspective of buying one of those $300 HID kits....and then found out that they were a really bad idea. As I understand it, the retrofits do require some custom fabrication. That hidplanet site seems to have a good community who are really into this sort of thing and ought to be able to help you out.
