Default How to remove badges?

I got a 1990 Chevrolet and the tailgate is off a 1996 Gmc sierra, how do I remove the GMC and Sierra Badges?

Use a hair dryer to get the adhesive on the back a little warm and they'll pull right off...use some adhesive remover (I like 3M) to get rid of the residue. Just be sure to look closely and double check that the 'gate hasn't been repainted at one time...you wouldn't be the first to debadge an older truck and find out they just taped off the badges.

If the badges fight with you, you can use some fishing line to cut through the glue, then some 3M Adhesive remover or WD40 to remove the glue residue.

WD40 for sure-it disolves glue. I used the ol'ladys best teflon spatula, came right off. She still has no idea

It was cold out today so the hair dryer didnt get it nearly warm enough so I managed to find the heat gun, and with a little wiggling they came off pretty good, and I had to 3M tape remover and I couldnt find the G00 GONE so I scrubed at the residue for a while with WD40 Im surprised I cant type because my fingers are aching

Werd on the finger aching....when I removed my mouldings and badges I had so many aches and blisters my hands were clenched up like claws

How'd it work out since it was re-painted, any signs of the original color, or did it come out smoothly?

I found out from the previouse owner that the box is off another newer GMC and the Cab was painted to match the box and the box had the orignal colour so it worked out perfect
