Default Long overhead console question.

I bought a long overhead console out of a 98 Chevy, I plan on putting it in my 00 GMC, Are they the same? The one in my 95 mounted with 2 tabs on the rear and a screw on the front.

Thx.

The long overhead console out of the 98 will work in your NBS truck. Do you have a short console now? If so, you just need to open the hole in the headliner a little bit to fit the new console in.

No pics, but you need more room for the front portion of the console, and I think some holes for the back pegs to slip in to. We did this on a buddy of mine's truck but didn't take any pics, and I don't exactly remember how we put everything in. Sorry man.

Do you have a Reg cab or ext cab truck?

if you have an ex cab truck the rear slots are already in the roof, if you have a single cab i *think* you have to cut them but it will fit... i can measure my truck if you need it

....take out the short console, attach the front of the long console with the screw near the windshield, and just hold up the back with your hand, use a pencil and mark on the headliner around where the "hooks" are in the back of the console. then get a sharp knife and cut near where you marked, you'll see theres two square holes in the roof where it hooks in. trim around those, hook it in the back, plug in you map lights and you're done....enjoy the new storage

Yea, It's an X-Cab. I saw your pictures on FSC so it looks pretty simple, Basically I was trying to figure out if a 98 was the same as a 00 and from the numerous responses it looks like it is. I just did not want to find out after I cut the holes.
Thanks again for all of the info.
