Lowering the Denali
Just put some american racing 22s on my 03 denali today
the truck is AWD w/ autoride...
What is the easiest way to level out the truck...
ideally a 3-5 drop, but looking to stay simple and save some money...
Does anyone make a 3" drop for just the back?
let me know thanks!

i would get djm lower controll arms, you will get 3 inches out of them and they will keep the ride because they use the stock full height bumpstops, and turn radius much better than lowering spindles. i have the mcgaughys spindles and dont care for them much, i wanted it a little lower in the front and im forced to run a really short bumpstop which can make the ride annoyingly bumpy, and i had to modify the spindle to get my turn radius back. and for the back im sure you can pick up 3" lowering coils.

My main goal is just for it to be pretty close to level
How close to level will JUST the 3" lowering coils in the rear get me?
I was thinking about maybe doing that and adjusting my keys to get about an inch lower in the front...
will the rear coils affect ride?
let me know

the back should only ride a little stiffer with the coils, im sure that you will have to trim the bumpstops a little but it wont be too bad.
if you were only going to lower an inch in the front, cut the first nub off the bumpstop on each side and take about 6 turns out of each torsion bar bolt, that should do it and it wont ride too bad, but if you wanted to go lower, just remember about the front the torsion bars do not have a progressive rate to them like coils, gm designed them to be aided by the front bumpstop, they used a really tall bumpstop that the lca sits on just for that reason, to provide some progressiveness. when you decrank you will have to cut the bumpstop to lower the front and the lower you go the less bumpstop you will have, there for stiffening the ride considerably. now how much stiffer your willing to tolerate is at your own discretion, but i miss the caddy ride my truck once had. thats where the djm arms come into play they dont have the huge riser cast into them where the bumpstop touches so you can go lower without cutting the bumpstop.

I am pretty sure that you can only lower it 2/3 with the kits availible. I am running mcgaughys kit with mine the ride is like stock on 24's and even better with my stock tires. I wouldn't do anything differently if I did it again.
Heres what mine looks like.
