Default In the market for new Tires

Gonna buy some new tires next month and had some questions.
I really like the Kumho Ecsta STX's i have on the back right now so I'll probably get another set just like them, but I'm considering switching sizes.

Right now i'm running 275/45/20 on a 8.5" wheel.
Should I stay with a 275/45/20 or switch to 285/50/20 or 305/50/20.
TireRack has them for $103, $123, and $146 each.

I'm considering going with 305's but don't know if i should since i have an 8.5" wheel. If they will safely mount, will they wear out the front end?

Tagging for input. Looking for a good bang-for-buck tire. Want something that rides, and wears good.

Im about to need some new treads myself. Looking for something in 275/50 or 55/20

BUMP

Anyone know if I'll be okay running 305's?

Edit: Are Toyo Proxes directional or non?
And is anyone running Nitto 420s ? How do these handle on water and snow?

I got some 295 45 20 general uhps yesterday and so far I'm happy with them. They were $400 for the two rears and now I can hook up from a 25 roll and up, where that never happened before. I switched from 275 45 20.

I am runing the same tires as you and love them, they don't last aslong as I would like but do have a lil better traction then I have had in the past..

I think i'ma try out the Nitto 420S
My question remains on the size. Can I fit a 305 on a 8.5" wheel or is the widest i should go a 295?

I just got the 420s in the 295/50-20 and they hook real good and corner awsome. However the 295/50/20 only comes in a whitewall and a redwall. the only reason i got the red is because discount tire had them for a $100 a piece.
