i think you need a 9.5 or 10 inch wheel to get to 305.

305's will be fine on your current wheels; a little wide but they'll work. I hope you're planning on 4.10 gears too if you don't already have them. When I had 285/50's on my truck I noticed a big difference off the line with the larger/heavier tires.

Those and a locker are on the list of future mods, but it'll be a while. I'm thinkin i'll play it safe and do 285 or 295's.
If I can get a lil more grip i should be able to WOT of the line. As it is now i can roll then floor it, but if i just floor it there's a smoke show.

I was gonna go ahead and get the Nitto 420S in a red wall today for 100each and it looks like they stopped carrying them the other day on DiscountTire. Now I gotta get the white wall for another $70 per tire.

I just got the 420's about a month and a half ago. I love them, corners like crazy and hooks great, I also have a relativly stock truck. I got the 285's because of the white wall on the 295. i asked and the guy at town fair tire said it was a pretty thick white wall. Tires look nice and fat on the GM 20's. Now i have to do some suspension mods to keep up with the tires conering abilities. Good luck with the search

i run the 285/50 Kuhmo STX's and i love them They do awesome in the rain and hook real good. I paid 800 for all for plus mount and balance, though im sure you can get them cheaper online. I will say that at full lock left and right they slightly rub the sway bar.
