Adams polishes work wonders....I've had good luck with meguairs as well. Run a paint restore then a cleaner wax, and then use a good protective wax. that should bring back what your looking for. Have any pics of the paint so we can see how bad it is?

Have it detailed. There are a few detailers on the board that can recommend some treatments. They make paint worse than that look new again.

A clay bar will probably be recommended.

Clay bar only removes wax and objects on the surface of the clear.

What you need is to compound the surface with a buffer, polish then wax.

You can try by hand but you wont get close to the permanent results you can with a machine. It will cost you more to get the right equipment, and do it yourself initially, but you in the long run it is much more rewarding

Oh. I figured the clay bar would be a good idea to clean the surface prior to doing a polish and wax. Does it not really matter?

First step is to wash it, then clay bar the complete truck.. Do it all on a cool day out of the sun.. I use 3m products, love them.. You need to get a buffer, a foam(blue) pad, along with a 2 wool pads.. Get some 3m finesse it mild compound, then some finishing compound. Also a bottle/jug of 3m finesse synthetic scratch remover.. Apply both the compounds with a wool pad(use each pad for the diff compound), with the buffer set to about 15-1600 rpms. Wipe the truck down with a towel after done.. Change over to the foam pad, do the truck with the finial coat of the synthetic stuff up the rpms on the buffer to about 18-2000rpms.. Follow up with a good wax.. My truck was way worse then that, with alot more scratches. When i was finished it looked as good as the day I bought it.. It was a whole lot of work.. It has lasted and has continued to look awsome.. It was done about 2 years ago.. I am pretty good with a buffer, if you don't have much exp with one I would go to a pro, unless you want to blow through the paint but it will cost you.. Just for the material I had about 135 buks in it.. Good luck
