So I went to see my grandparents this weekend and took some pictures of his amazing collection of cars
First up is his 49 that has just been restored to absolute original PERFECT, the truck was bought my my great-grandfather in 1949 for 1445$
Then a 57 belair that he bought in this condition about 3 years ago at a show, its got a 305 and a 4 speed auto gets about 18-19 mpg it to is original with all new gm certified interior. He wants to sell it for about 55k
And then my favorite 1970 442, bought new by my grandfather 4,300$. It has I think 63k miles, and it is all stock, and still runs on leaded fuel AKA avgas (he gets from his local municipal airport). Best part is its 454 inches of fury. This thing has been babied, I mean the original rubber weather stripping around the doors is still in good shape.
also all three run and drive perfect i'd have total confidence takeing all of them on a cross country road trip(though i nver would)

thanks too all for the good words. i am vary proud of my grandfather and his cars.
and thats my girlfriend shannon in the yellow.
the 442 has a good story with it too.
as many of you know the 442 had the different sport pakeges the best was the w30. this is a rare car that oldsmobile produced to look a sleeper that they could take to the track and show off as the base model, but in fact its a w30 on steroids minus the ram air hood and red inner wheel wells. well its tuned so hot (from the factory) that the sparkplugs have to be changed every 2k miles.
its never been to the 1/4 track but my grandfather did take it to a measured mile once where it was clocked at 175mph
love that car
