Default Need opinion, blacking out stock rims?

I have a black ext cab truck with the aluminum 16" rims. I am planning on blacking out everything else, getting a 4/6 drop, SS bumper cover and a roll pan. I will probably not have the money to buy rims yet, so I was thinking about painting the stockers for now. YES or NO?

I would not think it would look great on a blue truck. IMO

Anyone know of a good powder coating company in the Houston area?

Why not leave the flat main surface with the machined finish, and then black out the rest.

I say it depends on which rim style you're calling "stock". Since you say aluminum, I would say no to painting them black. However if you were going with the steel wheels, I would say do it and find yourself a set of chrome center caps. See if there's any junkyards in your area with new wrecked 03-05 trucks in the yard. Go collect yourself 4 SPARE rims. They have 16 inch black steel rims underneath of them for spares. Might be able to get by cheap and then you can rely on the paint sticking. I managed to find 1 in a yard and then 3 silver painted ones that I was going to strip to match the spares. Instead I found some SS rims If you didn't live so far from MN I'd sell you all 4 rims so you'd have a set to paint and put on your truck. Then you could leave your stock alum rims alone.
