wish I would have known about this before I killed it with the wire wheel

I learned.

Eric said he'd take the truck over the B&P guy and get a price on the center engine, fuse box, shroud, and CAI pipe... maybe b/c I'm a return customer he'll throw in the paint on the two side covers.

And I think I'm going to go with the blue... are we good on that?

I tried the cut off wheel at first also and it jus left alot of deep scracthes. I used jb weld to cover most of them up and it did the trick. I missed a small scratch though

Damn It.. JB Weld, I know I have plenty of that crap. But it lieu of being the master of B&P, and screw it up more, I think I'll have the pro do it.

BTW.. very nice job on the cover.

Will do. What do you think about the color choice?

I would go ahead and continue with the theme of the truck. White middle cover and paint the two side covers blue. If you add any lettering make that orange.

I'd use no coarser than needed to remove, say Vortec 6000. Start finer like 180 & work backwards (more coarse) to 80 & if needed 40. Only on aggressive material removal not on areas outside that cause then you're chasin sand scratches & tryin to sand em out/ bury in primer. You want enuff bite to do the job, but not too coarse. Like Goldilocks, just right.
I have yet to do an engine cover, but I've done interior trim before. Still plaastic, but texture is finer. I've surfaced a part here or there u might say. G/L Lisa, I hope wire wheel didn't go too deep. What, u don't like the Longhorn idea?

It's been a little while waiting, but I finally did it. I purchase a 3 piece engine cover. Them had the 3 pieces and the shroud cover painted to match the blue on the lower part of the truck. With Eric's help we stripped the bay of the red paint and went to black by painting the CAI and fuse box. We also too down the "line of fire" lights that were there for so long.
