Sorry if the quality sucks, but I just took off all the emblems and stuff. Going to get the windows tinted tomorrow. Does anyone know how I can get rid of the "ghost" lettering? I can still see SILVERADO on my tailgate even though the decals are taken off.

Give me some feedback, what do you think I should do next?

the letters are there cause the truck is what almost 10 years old or so? The paint faded over time, and the lettering kept the paint underneath them nice and fresh. Now that I've said that, I don't know how you can fix it.. lol

Yeah I realize that Texas boy, was wondering if I could buff it out.

And for an 8 year old truck id say it's held up pretty well.

Nice truck!!! I doubt the paint is faded. The lettering was protecting the paint. I would clay bar the truck then polish.

Nice truck...I think that colormatching the bumper caps and lower valance, as well as some chrome caps and white frames on the mirrors would look nice. You could try buffing the ghost lettering, but I don't think that you'll get a permanent fix for it...besides the outside paint being faded, it also gets worn down, so that the paint that was protected by the decals or emblems is actually raised. An old body man gave me that info when I inquired about the same issue
