Ok... the ignorant one here. Why would someone by a Z71 and drop it? It's got a 4x4 package.

Can't speak for anyone else, but the limited snowfall we get here in Baltimore would hardly ever require a lifted truck, just some traction every now and again. My old 2wd 97 Silverado was worthless in any accumulated snow, which is why I chose a Z71 equipped truck for the replacement. I'd only lower mine for the "look", since I know it'll never see "off road" as in hill climbing, mud bogging, etc...

Basically, I bought a poor man's Silverado SS, but have the option of 2wd or 4wd with a push of a button, lol.

Love your rims BTW. I'd like to get something like those for mine eventually. I'm betting they'd look badass on a black truck.

May I ask...

What are Belltech "keys"?

and...Are the 2" shackles needed due to the blocks being removed?

Thanks, Bob
I have the Belltech 2/4 kit ...you can call them directly. And depending on what wheel size you go with you may want to go lower.

I used to wonder the same thing, Lisa...then I realized it's just personal preference. I suspect lots of people see my truck and think to themselves, "I wonder why that old turd has replaced all the black vinyl trim with shiny stuff and still keeps those stupid mudflaps on?" The simple answer is: they help to keep the shiny stuff shiny and I know how crappy the paint would look where the flaps cover it now.

Really, I used to work at MARTIN STATE AIRPORT.... I am down the Ft Howard, Miller Island area....

Like trev said, I would start with debadging it, color matched handles. Billet grill. Farley cheap/easy to do, will make a world of difference...

Thanks for the comps on the rims. Got a package deal from a guy in Cali. Rims are Titan 6 and tires are Hankook Ventus ST 275/45/20's, nitrogen filled, and balance, all delivered to the house for about $1300.

Lol, mine is lowered. Why? It handles 10x better. Why 4wd? Let me see you put 550rwhp to the street! lol, it makes perfect sense to me!
