Default OBS 16" wheels on NBS truck

just figured i'd let others benefit from my experience.

bottom line... they don't fit.

i'm referring to these 16x7 6 lug wheels.

yes, the studs line up and the hub centers are the same. what screws you up is the NBS brakes are bigger & the calipers will rub the inside of the wheel.

i was initially hoping to swap wheels between my sierra (with 16x6.5) & my brother's 94 suburban so i could get a set of 285s next time i bought tires. the fun part was forgetting to do a test fit before dismounting two tires.
oh well... at least i got more practice with a tire lathe & balancer

here's a couple PSs of what they would look like...

x2, I bought a set of wheels and tires, just wanted the tires but figured since they were already mounted and balanced, I would throw them on. They were 97 Z71 wheels like you have pictured, dont fit over the brake caliper. So I took the tires off and now have a set of wheels I cant use.LOL

Years ago, I tried to use some of those older 6-lugs wheels for a pair of drag radials. Same outcome.
